We do not recommend cow’s milk in general—whether organic or non-organic. I would say organic is better since the cows are not given any antibiotics or hormones but plant-based nut milks will be a much better option overall.
We would also recommend you include a variety of nuts, dried fruits (like figs, dates) and healthy seeds like flax/chia into your diet. Trail mix is a great snack to take on the go and will provide your body with a healthy dose of fats, protein, carbs and energy (the perfect package). Flax/chia can be added to oatmeal, cereal, salads or smoothies. Hemp seeds are fantastic if you are looking for a healthier protein source. Hemp seeds are super high in absorbable protein unlike processed whey protein powders that are very acidic on the body. Try incorporating oatmeal with nuts, dried fruits and cacao for breakfast. (Our oatmeal on the run recipe from our Target To Table Cookbook, is our favorite go-to breakfast. All of these items can be found on our shop page at: http://www.ontargetliving.com/shop/ We even have packaged trail mix combinations and snack mixes to make it easy for you.
I would recommend you check out our cookbook book for some delicious and healthy recipes. It has some great snack recipes including our famous honey flax energy bites.
